Mother's Day: Bookmark
If that special Mom in your life loves to read, make these simple customized bookmarks for her using pictures of her children or grandchildren.
What You’ll Need:
*Paint or ink (one color for the flower, plus green for the leaves)
*Markers (one color, plus green for the stem)
*Pictures of her children or grandchildren
*Clear contact paper
*What makes your Mom the best? Talk about all the ways this special Mom makes your life better.
*The photos you are using are going to be the center of your flowers, so you’ll want to choose a photo that has about a 1.5 to 2 inch diameter circle of the child’s face. Cut the photo into circle shape around the face.
*Cut the construction paper into a bookmark shape. You can do a traditional rectangle or be creative and do another shape.
*Near the top center of the bookmark – about 1 to 2 inches down from the top – glue the photo. Allow to dry.
*Use the tip of your finger and the paint or ink to create petals around the photo for the flower.
*Use the green marker to draw the stem.
*Use the tip of your finger and the green paint or ink to add leaves by the stem.
*Use your best handwriting to write “Happy Mother’s Day” and don’t forget the year or date!
*Allow to dry completely. On the back, write “Love,” and your name.
*Cover the front and back in clear contact paper. Trim to about ¼ inch from the edge of the construction paper.
*Send us a picture of your bookmarks and we may post it to our site! email@example.com.
