Turkey Letter Match Game
Match letters and get into the Thanksgiving spirit with this great craft for preschoolers!
What You’ll Need:
*Wooden clothes pins
*Construction paper, various colors
*Contact paper, optional
*Dry erase marker, optional
*Cut out turkey feathers from construction paper. If you want to reuse this game for multiple letter combinations, cover the feathers in contact paper and trim to a ¼ inch border. Cut out an oval for turkey body and a shape for the turkey head from the white paper.
*Color the turkey body brown and the head red or orange.
*Glue the head to the front of the body (colored side) and the feathers to the back of the body (white side).
*For the letters on the feathers, you can decide on a Thanksgiving phrase, such as “Give Thanks”, or you can write letters your child needs to work on. If you have covered the feathers in contact paper, write the letters on the feathers in dry erase marker, so you can wipe them off and re-write them as needed. If not, write the letters on the feathers in black marker.
*Write the same letters, one on each of the clothespins, and a few extra letters.
*Now the game is to match the letters on the clothespins to the letters on the turkey feathers.
*Send us a picture of your kids playing your turkey letter game we may post it to our site! firstname.lastname@example.org.
